ABOUT THE MISSION
It’s no secret that public education is often overlooked and underfunded. But Donors Choose is helping classrooms all over the country get the materials they need to make education fun and effective. Teachers post the materials they’re looking for (from crayons for art projects to flutes for a music class to microscope slides for biology) making it easy for everyday people to give whatever they can, and know exactly where their money’s going. Spend a day at the organization’s New York City headquarters and tell us the story behind the site, by interviewing the people that make it happen. Once you’ve done your own share of volunteering, we’ll give you $500 to donate to whatever educational projects tickle your fancy.
