Alex Morrison

Alex Morrison got his start directing Spanish dialogues in high school, and since then has expanded his work as a Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Still Photographer and Glidecam operator on a number of short films, fiction and non-fiction, including work in the art department on the feature film "The Island". Past experiences include those of a film equipment salesman for a major film equipment rental house; A/V specialist at TBWA/Chiat/Day, creator of an independent screening series in his hometown of Oberlin, Ohio; staff at Camp Keewaydin and EXCO film instructor at Oberlin College. Interests include anything related to movies, video games, soccer, gardening, the outdoors, and is a Facebook junkie (so lets be friends, just make sure to let me know we met through Ford Fiesta!). He was selected as one of the ten best filmmakers of the year by Ithaca College and is currently a graduate student in Film and Media Arts at American University with a Center for Teaching Excellence fellowship. His thesis film "DIY" promotes not only independent rock bands but works as an experiment in social networking and creating an online presence. His film work has been featured in film festivals, websites, and will be premiering an environmental documentary as part of "Ecoviews" on Maryland Public Television.
